Izanami

Izanami is the awakened form of the evolving Doll known as Yin. She is viewed by some, such as Repnin, as a weapon made solely for the purpose of slaughtering Contractors.

Awakening

During their journeys while fleeing the Syndicate, Yin's observation specter developed from its normal, vaguely head-like form to a full translucent body. Over time, this became more solid, taking on the appearance of Yin herself, clad in a new outfit, with long glowing tendrils emerging from her glowing hair. In this form Yin slays many Contractors by forcing them to use their own ability to kill themselves.

It is shown in the Gaiden episodes, that Yin was possessed by Izanami, when she extends her hand, calling out Hei's name.

Trivia

• Hei is the only known Contractor to regain his abilities.
• Izanami may be named after the Shinto-kami, Izanami-no-Mikoto, who, together with her husband, Izanagi-no-Mikoto, created the islands and other deities of Japan.
